Alex K. Shayne, entertainer, singer, and storyteller, has been performing since she was five years old on stages large and small from California to Florida, Boston to New York City, and back again.
Alex was born and raised in Palm Springs, California into a show-business family. Now, after decades of traveling the world, she has returned to her roots to perform in the very town she's been talking about for years!
Follow her parent's journey from New York and Las Vegas to the small town of Palm Springs in the early 1960s where they sang and entertained for the biggest of the BIGs and life was one big party of "somebodys."
Relive the mid-century-modern heyday of Palm Springs glamour with true stories and the music befitting of the time period. You will feel like you've stepped back into the swinging glory days of Palm Springs life.
And just like Alex, you may never want to leave again.
Rob Reistad, was born in Texas and raised in Arizona. He moved to this desert in 1985. He raised three children here and is proud to call Palm Springs his home. Rob's first brush with the entertainment industry came when he picked up a trumpet at the young age of 8 and fell in love. He represented the State of Arizona in the High School All-American band and after graduating from North Texas State he toured with the Buddy Rich Band.
When not playing trumpet he is happy to be "the man behind the curtain" and has made a name for himself in the desert as Technical Director for several iconic events including the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala and the Desert Aids Project's Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards Gala.
Rob is happy to bring his talents and musical acumen to this show and to Alex. You may even see him jump onto the stage with his trumpet!
